Tecsinter is specialized in the production of components using conventional powder metallurgy technology. In this technique, metallic powders are cold compacted in steel or carbide dies, with pressures ranging from 400 to 600 MPa. The green compacts are then heated in controlled atmosphere furnaces where the temperature in the case of steels is about ¾ of the melting temperature of the material. This stage of the process, known as sintering, promotes the metallurgical bonding between the powder particles, providing adequate mechanical resistance to the component, according to its application.
