Innovation and technology


Composed of a wide network of universities and technology parks, the environment of innovation of Rio Grande do Sul is one of the most advanced of Brazil. The State counts on 23 universities and 113 technical education institutions, and the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul (UFRGS) is recognized as the second best university in Brazil.
The technology parks of Rio Grande do Sul are among the best of the country and have won several national and international awards. There are 15 technology parks in total, and the three largest parks (Tecnopuc, Tecnosinos and Feevale Techpark) employ around 15,000 highly qualified people. Large multinational companies are already installed in our technology parks, such as HP, Dell Computers and Microsoft (US), Hana Micron (South Korea) and SAP (Germany).
